Daily Deal Discovery: The Best Aggregators for Savvy Shoppers

by Jimmy Van Houton

Are you always searching for the best deals? If so, you’re in luck. This post runs through the top online deal aggregators for savvy shoppers and what makes them great. Use these platforms to lower the cost of your weekly visit to the grocery store or find amazing deals on vacations: they’re right there, at your fingertips.

Google Shopping

Google Shopping is one of the easiest-to-use shopping aggregators out there. Simply type the product name in the search bar and immediately get results from across the web, all neatly arranged.

Google Shopping’s standout feature is its database’s sheer range of products. It promotes SKUs from well-known retailers, independent sellers, and even craft merchants looking for an SEO boost.

Google Shopping also offers real-time pricing, meaning you won’t get any nasty surprises when you click through to the vendor’s site. And it lets you filter and sort items, making it even more straightforward to see which vendors offer the steepest discounts.

Lastly, Google infuses the service with its advanced AI tools. This means you can get personalized recommendations, price alerts, and savings estimates in real-time.

Shopzilla

Shopzilla is another well-established pricing aggregator popular among savvy shoppers looking for the best deal. Like Google Shopping, it offers real-time pricing data and an oversized product database. It also displays reviews and ratings, giving you a quick glimpse of other shoppers’ thoughts about a specific product.

With that said, Shopzilla isn’t a perfect platform. It’s a little behind on artificial intelligence, meaning it won’t always show you personalized recommendations. It also has an old-fashioned user interface compared to some of the more modern aggregators.

Even so, it still makes our list because of its filtering, sorting, and review listings. It also works seamlessly on mobile, which is a nice touch for anyone who loves bargain spotting while on the move.

PriceGrabber

PriceGrabber is another top-notch price aggregator aiming to make the product market more transparent. Its database is massive and covers a wide selection of product categories, including clothing, appliances, and furniture.

The detailed product descriptions are a nice touch and let you learn more about what you’re buying instead of constantly having to click through the merchant site. (Some aggregators only give you a product name, price, and thumbnail). It also makes it simple to compare prices.

With that said, PriceGrabber isn’t perfect. While it provides considerable information upfront, review quality is lacking on many products. It’s not Amazon, where you can get a pretty good sense of what the average person thinks of an item.

You will also sometimes come across discrepancies in pricing data on PriceGrabber. While its real-time pricing information is pretty good, it’s not perfect.

Bing Shopping

Thanks to AI, Bing Shopping is also a great place to find deals on thousands of products. Microsoft has revamped its service considerably, offering similar functionality to Google Shopping.

For instance, Bing Shopping now has a vast product database, with numerous entries from online stores, independent sellers, and boutiques you can’t always find in the mall. It also has real-time pricing, presented in a straightforward layout, and integration with numerous Microsoft services, such as email.

If there are any criticisms of this platform, it’s that people don’t use it widely. That’s because Microsoft was late to the shopping aggregator punch. Even so, that’s a poor reason for not using it.

Pinterest

Pinterest is one of the most engaging aggregators for savvy shoppers on this list. The main benefit is its visual discovery engine. You can see products in context in beautifully curated photos, not stock product images.

Added to this, Pinterest has a trend-spotting feature that shows you all the products in the “hot” category, giving you the jump on the rest of the market. You can see popular lines in fashion and home décor on boards and private accounts.

However, it’s not the perfect aggregator. Making side-by-side price comparisons is challenging because it doesn’t present information in helpful tables or grids. Furthermore, you also have to visit retailers’ sites manually to confirm prices.

Shopmania

Lastly, we have Shopmania, a site that has a bit of a cult following. The aggregator’s standout feature is its colorful and intuitive interface. Finding your way around is always a pleasant and intuitive experience. The site also gives merchants complete control over their advertising campaigns, which means bigger discounts.

As you might expect, the downsides are minimal. Our only gripe is the lack of advertised discounts. The site assumes you really know what you are doing to grab the best deals. Making this easier would catapult it to the top of this list.
